A note from our Founder, Erin Bourke

“When I found out I was pregnant the first time… I’d never changed a nappy, in fact I’d only ever held one baby for about 2 minutes and I definitely had no clue about feeding, bathing, sleeping, nor had I properly considered the changes that having a baby would have on my body, my relationship and my life as a whole.
My sister had just had a baby, but other than that I had no friends closeby with babies.
I was very excited but also very underprepared. I wish I’d had friends who were pregnant and nearby. I wish I’d taken more time to learn what happens AFTER the birth. I wish I had felt part of a community before I got thrown into my council Mums group (who I didn’t quite clique with in the end).
And so, a pregnancy support group has been on the cards for a long time here at The Hub. It’s part of our mission and I’m so excited that it’s finally here!!

We can’t wait to welcome you and your family to the Hub!

“Being a part of the pregnancy support group at the Hub enabled my husband and I to meet new parents as well as learn skills from a registered Nurse and childcare worker (Deb and Sam). The practical and theoretical knowledge has made me feel more comfortable entering parenthood. Knowledge is power and I advise everyone starting their journey into parenthood to take this class at the Hub.” – Jessica Townsend
